Habitat for Humanity to build 24 affordable homes in Chestermere
Today, Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta celebrated the completion of the first units in an affordable housing development that will span an entire city block, one year after breaking ground. These 24 homes in Livingston are an addition to four homes that were completed in the same community in 2023.
Airdrie, AB – Today, Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta broke ground on 11 affordable townhomes in Airdrie, spanning an entire city block in the community of Bayview. Habitat was joined by representatives from the municipal and provincial governments, donors, volunteers and other community partners to celebrate this milestone. These homes will offer families the opportunity to build strength, stability and independence through affordable homeownership and will bring $4.5 million of affordable housing to the community.
Airdrie, AB – Today, Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta announced that it will be returning to Airdrie for the first time since 2016 to build 11 affordable homes. The homes will be built in the community of Bayview and will offer local families the opportunity to build strength, stability and independence through affordable homeownership.
Today, Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta kicked off its second-annual Industry Build, presented by Ovintiv. From May 27 to 30, more than 100 participants from energy, real estate, media, and technology companies will help build 24 Habitat townhomes in the northeast community of Livingston. Together, Industry Build sponsors have raised $125,000 in support of affordable housing in Southern Alberta.

This event highlights the completion of the units and families taking possession of, and moving into, their new affordable homes. January 21, 2016, Airdrie, AB – Today, Habitat for Humanity, together with Airdrie Mayor Peter Brown and Banff-Airdrie MP Blake Richards, officially broke ground on six new homes that will provide affordable home ownership for local families in the community of Ravenswood.
