Habitat for Humanity Celebrates Completion of Affordable Homes in Cornerstone

Calgary, AB – Today, Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta hosted its first Home Dedication since 2019, celebrating the completion of the first phase of affordable townhomes in the Northeast Calgary community of Cornerstone. This event highlights the completion of the units and families taking possession of, and moving into, their new affordable homes. These hard-working families are community members who are looking forward to becoming homeowners and creating a stable future for their children. Hundreds of donors, sponsors, community partners, and volunteers worked together to make these homes possible, and many of them were in attendance at the Home Dedication celebration.

Habitat for Humanity breaks ground on new affordable homes in Calgary

Calgary, AB – Today, Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta broke ground on new, affordable townhomes in Calgary. The homes will be built on Cornerstone Blvd NE and will provide 11 local families with the opportunity to purchase a home through Habitat’s affordable mortgage with no down payment, no interest, and monthly payments customized to their income.

Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta’s Mountain View Chapter officially broke ground on its 10th and 11th homes with a new duplex in the Town of Olds. The duplex will be located at 4826 52 St in Olds, AB, and will provide two local families with the opportunity to build strength, stability and independence through affordable home ownership.

23 cyclists embark on 375 kilometre Ride through the Rockies to raise $125,000 for Habitat for Humanity homes in Calgary

CALGARY, AB, August 18, 2016 – This morning, 23 cyclists embarked on the first leg of a four day, 375 kilometre journey through the Rocky Mountains as participants of the third annual Ride through the Rockies. Each cyclist pledged to raise at least $5,000, with the collective goal of raising $125,000 for Habitat for Humanity. The Ride is sponsored by Star Building Materials to help Habitat build strength, stability and independence for local families through affordable home ownership.

Habitat Drumheller announces new community partnership

Habitat for Humanity Drumheller & District is proud to announce a new partnership with Chinook Financial and St. Anthony’s School in Drumheller. Through this partnership, Chinook Financial will provide a financial contribution of $15,000 toward the construction of two Habitat homes, in addition to offering financial education classes to the students of St. Anthony’s.

New Habitat homes help Airdrie families

January 21, 2016, Airdrie, AB – Today, Habitat for Humanity, together with Airdrie Mayor Peter Brown and Banff-Airdrie MP Blake Richards, officially broke ground on six new homes that will provide affordable home ownership for local families in the community of Ravenswood. The two triplexes are located at 2716 King’s Heights Gate in Airdrie and the project has already received tremendous local support.
