With the Shaw Charity Classic organizers planning to resume play this summer, Shaw is once again encouraging the community to Chip in for Kids in an effort to boost support for Alberta youth-based charities.
Albertans can help raise money for Habitat through Shaw’s Chip in for Kids text-to-donate campaign until August 15, 2021.
By texting KIDS111 to 30333 Shaw will match your donation and the matched donation will then be matched again by the Shaw Charity Classic, up to an additional 50%. No need to fill out any payment information, the donation comes right off your cellphone billing cycle.
Frequently asked questions:
- Can someone make more than one text-to-donate donation?
Yes. Individuals can text-to-donate up to ten times in a single cellphone billing cycle, for a total donation of $100. All donations are matched. - Is the $150,000 matching cap for each individual charity?
No. This is the total matching cap for all donations received through Shaw fundraising campaigns over the summer. Once this cap has been reached, all other donations will still be added to the Shaw Birdies for Kids presented by AltaLink program. - Is text-to-donate donor information saved and accessible to charities?
No. Donor information is not captured during the text-to-donate process and therefore not available. On your Shaw Birdies for Kids presented by AltaLink donor report provided to you at the end of the program, you will see one line with the total amount brought in through the program, not individual donations. - When do charities get the funds?
The total contributions from the Chip in for Kids initiative will be distributed to charities along with the Shaw Birdies for Kids presented by AltaLink funds in the late fall. - What happens if a donor doesn’t use a sub-keyword?
If a donor texts the keyword KIDS to 30333 without a sub-keyword, the donation and match will be directed to the Shaw Birdies for Kids presented by AltaLink matching pool.
