In a recent study, Habitat Canada found the majority of Canadians believe the inability to own a home is having an impact beyond individuals; it is contributing to the wealth gap in Canada and to a shrinking middle class.

Many middle-income families are finding themselves in a frustrating position. They are doing everything right—working hard, saving diligently, and contributing to their communities—but still can’t achieve the dream of homeownership.

Since then, she's been a driving force behind Habitat's expansion into the Foothills region, most currently serving as Chair of the Habitat for Humanity Foothills Chapter.

It all started in 2019, when Liz tagged along with her church for a Build Day at our Silvercreek development. She had heard about Habitat for Humanity from her sister in law, who had participated in Women Build. After seeing it for herself, she signed up to become a volunteer right away.
