Habitat for Humanity welcomed six families into home ownership last week at a ceremony in the community of Ravenswood in Airdrie. In attendance were many of the sponsors, suppliers, trades, and community partners who contributed to make home ownership a reality for these six families.

CALGARY, AB, August 18, 2016 – This morning, 23 cyclists embarked on the first leg of a four day, 375 kilometre journey through the Rocky Mountains as participants of the third annual Ride through the Rockies. Each cyclist pledged to raise at least $5,000, with the collective goal of raising $125,000 for Habitat for Humanity. The Ride is sponsored by Star Building Materials to help Habitat build strength, stability and independence for local families through affordable home ownership.

Habitat for Humanity Drumheller & District is proud to announce a new partnership with Chinook Financial and St. Anthony’s School in Drumheller. Through this partnership, Chinook Financial will provide a financial contribution of $15,000 toward the construction of two Habitat homes, in addition to offering financial education classes to the students of St. Anthony’s.

Habitat for Humanity Drumheller and District, which will encompass Drumheller and its trading area, will bring the Habitat model to the community and work to build strength and stability for local families through affordable home ownership.

Today, Habitat for Humanity has officially opened registration for Women Build 2016. Habitat has set aside six days in May exclusively for women to fundraise and build homes at our construction project in Pineridge, where they’ll be outfitted with pink hardhats and power tools and experience a day of fun on a construction site.
