From the construction site, to the ReStore, committees and office, volunteers are how Habitat’s affordable housing program comes together to help local families. In other words, we couldn’t do it without you. Thank you.
We might be biased (okay we definitely are), but we have some of the best volunteers in the world. Just in case you missed Volunteer Week 2020, below are a few familiar faces we featured on our social media.
If you've been out on our build sites or participated in Women Build, there's a good chance you've met Dayle!
She is a volunteer Crew Leader, who helps guide construction volunteers - always with a smile and with a ton of expertise.
Thank you, Dayle! We're so grateful to have you on our team.
Anne-Marie has been volunteering in our office for the past three years and we are so lucky to have her.
When asked why she volunteers she said, “What’s wonderful about Habitat is that they get the volunteers really involved. When you come here, they have a place for you, they have something for you to do, and they respect you so much!”
Thank you Anne-Marie! And to every person who gives them time to support our office. It helps out more than you’ll ever know.
Peter has been volunteering at our Calgary Restore for the past year and has become an integral part of our team.
When asked why he chose to volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, he was quick to credit the deeply entrenched family values that are at the heart of Habitat.
While Peter had initially come to the ReStore by chance, he has stayed because of the bonds he has built with his fellow volunteers. “It is nice to have a positive effect on them, and be someone they can depend on.” Thank you, Peter, and every volunteer at our ReStores for all your hard work!
This is Randy and Carla. You might recognize their friendly faces from when they volunteered to sell 50/50 raffle tickets at our Calgary ReStore and raise money to help families in southern Alberta.
Thank you, Randy and Carla, for your support. We are so lucky to have you!
Andrea is a volunteer Crew Leader. You've probably met her on our build site, or maybe at Women Build, with her custom "greeter" sweater!
She's so great that, along with volunteering on our construction sites, she became a vital player in our strategic planning workshops earlier this year.
Thank you, Andrea, for your time and your talents!
If you are one of our regular volunteers or are interested in becoming one, we want you to know that we are keeping in accordance of Alberta Health Services (AHS).
At this time we will only be opening a limited number of volunteer opportunities and these will be for future Habitat homeowners completing their volunteer hours.
We thank you for your ongoing support and engagement in our cause from home. We can’t wait to welcome you back safely.
Stay tuned for updates coming soon.
