With the help of sponsors, donors and volunteers, we help families buy a home through our affordable mortgage and build long-term stability and independence.
Habitat has been active in Brooks since 1999. Since then, we have helped 12 families buy their first home and as a volunteer, you can be part of the future of Habitat in Brooks.
We currently have opportunities for volunteers who want to use their skills and be part of our local committee.
Across southern Alberta, there are more than 60 dedicated committee volunteers. This is your chance to be part of this inspiring cohort committed to helping families in their communities.
Lead the fundraising activities and the Regional Committee in developing and implementing fundraising goals and outcomes.
Support the committee with accurate minutes from each meeting. Responsible for reporting and submitting financial information and documents to Habitat for Humanity’s head office in Calgary, as well as reporting quarterly centrally produced financial statements to the committee in Mountain View.
Provide leadership in partnering with future homeowners in our affordable home ownership program. Work closely with Affiliate Family Services and local community partners to be aware of local need for Habitat model, and steward the program locally.
Supports the committee in the recruitment, selection of volunteers for the local committee and special events. Responsible for working closely with volunteer organizations in your area to recruit, on-board and train the local volunteers for events and other activities. As volunteers are vital to our work, this is a very important role that requires high levels of organization and dedication.
