A Habitat home is a stabilizing force for a family. Better, affordable living conditions lead to improved health, stronger childhood development and the financial flexibility for parents to make investments in their families’ futures.
When we build homes, we build the foundation for generations of families in Southern Alberta to build strength, stability and independence through affordable home ownership.
“I build because it's very rewarding to see the happy smiles on the young families as they're moving to their new home. You know if you give out yourself to others, you'd be rewarded and certainly that has been the case with me.”
Adrian Chuldleigh — Crew Leader for four years
Habitat makes home ownership affordable by offering a mortgage with no down-payment, no interest and monthly payments that are never more than 25 to 30 percent of a family's gross eligible income. This gives working families the ability to purchase their own homes and become independent home owners.
Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta is a non-profit organization that helps families build strength, stability and independence through affordable home ownership.
In the spirit of reconciliation, we acknowledge that we live, work and play on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani), the Tsuut’ina, the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations, the Métis Nation (Region 3), and all people who make their homes in the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta.
