More than a volunteer opportunity
Sarah first connected with Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta through Ride Through the Rockies in 2025.
She expected to spend a weekend supporting cyclists. She didn’t expect to leave inspired by everyone around her.
“I was blown away by every individual involved, from the cyclists on their bikes to the people working tirelessly behind the scenes. I left feeling inspired, grateful and eager to share my experience with Habitat to anyone that will listen.”
That weekend was just the beginning.

Since then, Sarah and the team at Three Peaks have continued finding new ways to support Habitat families. They’ve volunteered at fundraising events, donated wellness gift baskets for Volunteer Appreciation, and provided massage gift certificates for Habitat homeowners receiving keys throughout 2026 and into 2027, helping families celebrate an exciting new chapter with a little extra care.
Caring for the people behind the mission
For Sarah, what keeps her coming back is simple.
“The people.”
From Habitat staff and Crew Leaders to volunteers and industry partners, she says she’s never met a more inspiring or selfless community. One of her favourite parts has been seeing the full journey unfold.
“From fundraising, to groundbreaking, to Industry Build, to Women Build and then a homeowner’s key ceremony. Watching that full journey unfold has been incredibly powerful.”
Building community together
Sam’s Habitat journey began after joining the Three Peaks team, where he completed his student practicum before becoming a Registered Massage Therapist.
Like Sarah, he saw Habitat as an opportunity to make a difference beyond the clinic.
“Every time I see the happy families who benefit from the work Habitat does, it’s very rewarding.”

He also credits a connection from his previous career for introducing him to Habitat.
“That little act led to Three Peaks being able to reach out to an even larger community than we would have been able to do otherwise.”
Giving back is part of the job
Community service is woven into everything Three Peaks does.
Alongside Habitat, the clinic supports organizations including AARCS, Colton’s Crusaders, the Veterans Food Bank, children’s hospital toy drives, Run Calgary, and several cycling fundraising events throughout the year. Their team believes healthcare should feel human first, with volunteering and community partnerships becoming a natural extension of the care they provide every day.
Whether they’re helping riders recover after a long day on the bike, supporting Habitat volunteers, or celebrating homeowners receiving their keys, Sarah and Sam continue to show that there are many ways to help build stronger communities.
And sometimes, making a difference starts with simply showing up.
