Building what’s next with Ovintiv

Industry Build 2026, presented by Ovintiv, brought together more than 100 participants to build affordable homes for local families, collectively contributing $125,000 to building what’s next. See why Ovintiv supports affordable homeownership and why showing up in the community matters.

Building for our neighbours

For the fourth consecutive year, Ovintiv served as Presenting Sponsor of Industry Build, bringing not only financial support but also employees who rolled up their sleeves and worked alongside industry peers on site.

The partnership reflects Ovintiv’s commitment to making modern life possible and investing in the communities where its employees live and work.

“These are our neighbours,” said Rachel Moore, Executive Vice President of Corporate Services. “These are the people that we also care about, and we want to make sure that we have the kind of communities we can be proud of and that Ovintiv is an active part of building those communities.”

At Industry Build, that commitment becomes something tangible. Volunteers spend the day building walls, fastening sheathing, swinging hammers, and working together toward a shared goal: helping local families build a place to call home.

Building together

Industry Build shows what can happen when organizations work together toward a shared goal.

It takes land, building materials, skilled trades, volunteers, community partners, future homeowners, and companies willing to invest in the communities where they live and work. Industry Build brings those pieces together, showing what is possible when people share a common purpose.

When companies invest in communities, foundations are built,” said Moore.

More than a sponsorship

The commitment extends beyond sponsorship. Ovintiv employees worked alongside their peers, helping raise walls, learn new skills, and contribute to something lasting.

For one employee, the experience carried special meaning. Having grown up experiencing housing instability and living in subsidized housing, participating in Industry Build felt full circle.

The impact of Industry Build extends beyond the build site. The walls raised this year will become bedrooms, kitchens, and backyards where families can put down roots and plan for their future.

“All of these people can literally say they’ve helped build a better community, and they’re setting an example,” said Moore.

Building what’s next

Over the past four years, Ovintiv has been a driving force behind Industry Build, helping bring people, resources, and purpose together to support affordable homeownership.

“Over the course of the four years, we can look back at all the communities we’ve built in, all the homes we’ve built, and all the families whose lives we’ve changed,” said Moore.

That is what Industry Build is ultimately about. When people, companies, and communities come together, what’s next becomes possible.
