The Calgary Home + Garden Show is coming back this weekend with more innovative design solutions, more home-improvement technologies and plenty of new creative ideas for your gardens.
With the Calgary Home + Garden Show approaching this week, it can be hard to choose your must-see exhibitors, especially when the show runs for four days with more than 650 features.
But don’t worry, we’ve got your back by putting together our top five things to see at the show this weekend.
The Ultimate Upcycle Challenge

If you love having one-of-a-kind design pieces in your home, then the Ultimate Upcycle Challenge is the first thing you should see.
Five of Calgary’s most creative bloggers were challenged to upcycle rescued items from Calgary ReStore into original containers for herb and vegetable gardens, using only Rust-Oleum paints and stain, and a $50 design budget.
Each entry will be exhibited and sold in a silent auction, with all proceeds benefitting Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta, to help families build strength, stability and independence through affordable homeownership.
Telus Future Home

Have you ever wondered what the homes will look like a few years from now? How will facial recognition technologies ease your access to home? How will your personal virtual assistant help you stay on top of your tasks and keep you healthy?
Telus Future Home will immerse you in 560 square feet of interactive and dynamic live space, where connected technologies will help you simplify everyday activities and keep you safe and more comfortable.
Urban Barn Home + Garden Stage
When: March 2-5

Whether you’re looking for inspiration, new ideas or just want to stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, the Urban Barn Main Stage is a place to go at the Home + Garden Show. The main stage is located in the Archie Boys Theatre.
You’ll be able to get plenty of stylish ideas from 26 professional designers and industry experts to get you building projects ready for spring.
Some of the featured celebrities include HGTV’s Masters of Flip, Kortney and Dave Wilson, HGTV Canada’s Home to Win stars Carson Arthur and Tiffany Pratt, and many others will be sharing their knowledge and inspire your creativity.
DIY Hacks

Once you’ve seen the five incredible Upcycle Challenge pieces , you’ll surely be inspired to become a professional DIYer.
Join DIY and design expert Leigh-Ann Allaire Perrault, who’ll be sharing useful tips and insights on how to become a DIY pro.
Backyard Wars

Location: Stampede Corral
One of the most compelling things to see at the Home and Garden show is Backyard Wars, a landscaping challenge that encourages local landscapers to use out-of-the-box design thinking to create the best backyard space.
Everyone is welcome to vote for their favourite landscape project and help one of the designers win a $1,000 cash prize and free booth space at the 2018 Home + Garden Show.
