The family has been searching for a place to put roots down since Mohamed moved to Canada in 2019 to continue his passion of cooking.

When he realized that Victoria wasn’t a place where he would be able to afford a home, Mohamed moved to Calgary in search of more affordable homes for himself and Soukaina.
After their daughter, Jasmine, was born, family and safety became the family’s number one priority. They began searching for a place they could call “home”.

Mohamed picked up a second job to continue providing for his wife and daughter while Soukaina is on maternity leave. Soukaina recently defended her PhD thesis and is planning to find work once Jasmine starts at daycare.

Mohamed was working his second job and had a good feeling about the day when his phone rang. He knew that good news was on the way when he was told his family was approved for the homeownership program.
The approval was an early birthday present for Soukaina who, all of a sudden, had another reason to celebrate.

Until the home is completed, the family will continue to stay busy raising their toddler and working hard for their future, which has become more secure since they received the most memorable birthday present of their life.
