For Pamela and Joel, the dream of homeownership has always been simple: a safe, stable place to raise their son, Dimitriy (Dima), and a community to belong to. After years of renting, moving, and facing challenges with unreliable landlords, their dream is finally within reach.

Since joining Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta in May 2022, Howard has volunteered nearly 1,150 hours, showing up twice a week to help build homes, teach others, and bring calm consistency to every site he’s on.

Arthur and Charlee have dreamt about building a future where their children could grow up in one community, surrounded by friends and family, without the stress of rent increases or the unpredictable threat of yet another move.

For Lara, the idea of homeownership has always meant one thing: giving her children stability and security. From tough sacrifices to a life-changing phone call, Lara’s family has held onto the dream of homeownership.
