Donating to ReStore is simple! Whether you’re donating as an individual or a business, these guidelines will help make sure your items can be accepted and put to good use.
How it works
Start by making sure your items are clean and in good condition, with no rips, stains, or heavy wear. You can drop off donations at any Habitat ReStore in Southern Alberta or request a free pickup for larger items. It’s an easy way to help local families and keep reusable goods out of the landfill.

What we accept
Before you donate, please review our guidelines to make sure your items can be accepted. We take a wide range of new and gently used furniture, appliances, and building materials. All donations are reviewed by our team and may be refused based on the condition or current store needs.
Yes, please:
- Furniture
- Appliances (small and large, newer than 10 years old)
- Building materials such as usable lumber, new drywall, insulation, etc.
- Kitchen and bathroom cabinets
- Doors and windows
- Unopened flooring
- Home decor items
- Sinks, faucets, bathtubs, and showers
- New lighting and electrical supplies
- Hardware and tools
No, thank you:
- Clothing or bedding
- Electronics
- Items exposed to cigarette smoke or pet hair
- Used windows
- Used window coverings (curtains, blinds, etc.)
- Dirty or rotten lumber
- Stained or damaged items
- Used flooring
- Mattresses, sofa beds, or futons
- Box springs
- Used lighting
- Used toilets
- Opened paint
