Crew Leaders are a group of specialized, skilled volunteers who are responsible for training, mentoring and supervising small groups of volunteers on Habitat for Humanity build sites.
They commit to volunteering at least three days per month, and work closely with our construction site staff to lead volunteers of all skill levels.
Many Crew Leaders have backgrounds in construction, trades, or engineering, or sometimes just a love of home renovations and DIY projects! We offer ongoing training and supervision to ensure everyone has the tools they need to have a safe and fun experience on site.
One of the best parts of the Crew Leader experience is connecting with other like-minded people. You'll be part of an exclusive cohort of dedicated volunteers and make meaningful connections.
It can be hard to find volunteer opportunities that align with your passions and skills. This is the perfect opportunity for people who love building and working with their hands. Many Crew Leaders also get immense satisfaction from teaching other volunteers and sharing their expertise.
Not only do you get to see the homes progress from start to finish, but you get to meet and work side-by-side with the families who will be purchasing the homes. You'll gain a fuller understanding of the life-changing difference you're making when you give your time and talent.
"I like helping people and learning new trades. It's a great opportunity to get out, meet new people, and meet the future homeowners, which is a phenomenal experience."
Dayle Turnbull, Construction Crew Leader
