Homeowners interact with Habitat in a variety of situations including various points during the application process, completing hours to finalize partnership obligations, and signing the documents to purchase their home.
Potential homeowners who are in the application stage of the homeowner process and do not voluntarily declare as fully vaccinated or are unable to provide recent proof of a negative COVID test will be required to answer mandatory screening questions, and follow the recommended Alberta Health Services guidelines.
Effective January 29, 2022, homeowners who are in partnership and are completing their volunteer hours are required to either be fully vaccinated or to present proof of a negative COVID-19 test result once per week, administered by an approved Alberta pharmacy and competed not more than 24 hours before their first volunteer shift.
Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta is a non-profit organization that helps families build strength, stability and independence through affordable home ownership.
In the spirit of reconciliation, we acknowledge that we live, work and play on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani), the Tsuut’ina, the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations, the Métis Nation (Region 3), and all people who make their homes in the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta.
